Activity Idea (kindness/empathy):
Trace everyone’s hands in different-color construction paper and create a rainbow of hands. Cut out heart shapes and hang them from the rainbow. On each heart shape, have the child draw a picture or write something indicating what they could do to show kindness to others. This is a great activity to do as a division or within a grade level. Display the rainbow and have children sing the This Heart, These Hands song at a special assembly (e.g., Remembrance Day, Christmas, Valentine’s Day).
