9. MOVE TO THE ZANZIBAR ZOO (Soothing Cool-Down)
Benefits: Here is gently flowing, soothing music with simple language and easy-to-follow sequentially designed developmental movement patterns.
NOTE: As an alternate movement to “waving arms” during the first two lines of each chorus (i.e., 2 x "Come see the animals, here at the zoo"), you can direct children to raise both arms together out in front, lifting arms up and out, drawing circles simultaneously with the right and left hands.

During each final chorus line (i.e., "At the zoo, the Zanzibar Zoo"), with both arms together, you can have children draw a large, sideways number 8.

MOVE TO THE ZANZIBAR ZOO
(Music: Ron Hiller/RONNO * Lyrics: Liz Jones-Twomey, Ron Hiller, Pam Schiller, Beth (Bickle) DeVolder – © 2013 Song Support/SOCAN)

Come see the animals here at the Zanzibar Zoo
And do what they do!

Look at the elephant
Swing her trunk
Look at the elephant
Swing her trunk
At the zoo (at the zoo)
The Zanzibar Zoo

(Using arms to chomp…)
Look at the alligator
Chomp his teeth
Look at the alligator
Chomp his teeth
At the zoo (at the zoo)
The Zanzibar Zoo

(Wave arms [overhead] from side to side)
CHORUS:
Come see the animals
Here at the zoo
Come see the animals
Do what they do!
At the zoo
The Zanzibar Zoo

(Are you ready to climb?)
Look at the monkey
Climb a tree
Look at the monkey
Climb a tree
At the zoo (at the zoo)
The Zanzibar Zoo

Look at the giraffe
Stretch her neck
Look at the giraffe
Stretch her neck
At the zoo (at the zoo)
The Zanzibar Zoo

(Gently waving arms…)
REPEAT CHORUS

Look at the lion
Chase his tail
Look at the lion
Chase his tail
At the zoo (at the zoo)
The Zanzibar Zoo

Look at the kangaroo
Hop up and down
Look at the kangaroo
Hop up and down
At the zoo (at the zoo)
The Zanzibar Zoo

(And waving arms…)
REPEAT CHORUS 2X
